Dr. Vikram Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology, Govt. P.G. College Jaiharikhal. He did his PhD from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Dr. Singh has about 10 years of research experience in the field of Climate Science, and during this period he has worked in different prestigious Institutes/Universities in various positions. He received several Research Fellowships for his Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Research. He got the opportunity to present his scientific findings at various National and International Conferences in India and Abroad. He has published several Research Papers in high-reputed Journals along with Book chapters. Dr. Singh has a core research interest in understanding the behaviour of climatic parameters in long-term perspective. He uses tree rings, a high-resolution proxy, to develop climatic records back to the past several centuries and millennia. Dr. Singh uses robust statistical models to reconstruct the climate variables and to analyze their socioeconomic impact. At present, He is curious to understand the Monsoon Dynamics, especially the Winter Monsoon, over the high-altitude Himalayan regions. Additionally, Dr. Singh is interested in examining the linkages of climatic parameters in Natural Hazards, River Discharge, Glacier Dynamics, and Himalayan Ecology under the background of on-going global warming.
